How does Arrive lower ping?

Arrive sends your game traffic down a faster route than the one your internet provider picks. Arrive's technology consists of its own network of datacenters and internet routes, paired with the Arrive app. Arrive measures your connection to find the best paths between your ISP, its network and the game servers, then sends your game traffic down the quickest one. As you play, it learns the best path to your server.

Your internet provider picks routes that suit its own costs, and those aren't always the fastest way to a game server. Sometimes a busy router in the middle makes packets wait; sometimes the quick road between two cities simply isn't one your provider uses. Is Arrive a VPN?

No. A VPN wraps all of your traffic in an encrypted tunnel and sends it out from another place. Arrive moves only your game traffic onto a faster route and leaves everything else on your normal connection. That's also why you shouldn't run the two together.

Is Arrive free?

Yes, Arrive is free. There's also an optional Supporter plan: Ad-free Arrive, supports the dev team.

Will Arrive lower my ping?

Not always. How much Arrive helps depends on your ISP and where you are. It works great today for some players, while others may see smaller gains until the network expands. New datacenters are added over time.

Fixing the internet is hard. Every connection takes its own path, and some are already as fast as they'll get. We can't make every connection better, but we are making a lot of them better. Our network keeps growing, so if Arrive doesn't help today, try again later. The honest test is your own: play with Arrive off, then on, and compare the ping your game shows.
